A Zebra to Appliqué
a free appliqué quilt block pattern for a circus quilt

Here's a zebra block to applique to go with the circus tent and clown blocks recently posted here (Click here for the free applique Circus Tent block and here for the Juggling Clown block) to use in a child's quilt. These blocks can be any size (6-9" or so). One quilter wrote me that she plans to make the Circus Tent block extra large in the center of her quilt and then put the smaller blocks around it. On the next page you'll see a larger diagram to help you see how to lay out the template pieces. If the quilt is not for a baby, try using buttons for the eyes?

Also, remember if you want to use duplicates of this zebra block, you can mirror image them to have the zebra facing either left or right for more variety. Just use the templates upside down when you cut them.

Print the templates and enlarge them a copy machine to the desired block size.

Layout Diagram is here. (larger version of layout seen at left)

Templates are here, there are 2 template pages.

If you make one of these blocks or a quilt top, please send me a photo or a scan of the block to show off what fabrics you used.

See sample quilt tops for 3 different ways to use the 3 Circus Blocks.
