One of my favorite things to do is to design easy, quick quilts with a simple block and show the various ways to layout the quilt tops.
Here are some sample quilt top layouts using this simple block but twisted and turned in different directions.
First I leave the colors the same and show effects of turning the blocks in relation to each other in the first 4 tops below. Then I show some other color effects.
Above is the most obvious layout, all
blocks are facing the same direction.
Above is a zig-zag arrangement made
by flipping alternate blocks 1/4 turn.
Above shows the rectangle portions
turned to meet up in alternate rows.
Above is a maze type arrangement.
Above is the same maze type layout
but with very different colors.

If you use this block to make a quilt, I'd love to see photos.
