This article is about how to make this block in three different ways: 2 paper foundation methods and one template method. This block is #6 in the "Block of the Month Pinwheel series". There will be 12 blocks in this series.
The Double Pinwheel Whirls block is a very easy block to paper foundation piece. If you haven't done paper foundation piecing before, this is a good one to learn on. I have also included template instructions if you prefer to make your block this way.
The 3 methods for making this block:
1. Use the smaller and easiest block (1/4 unit) to paper foundation piece. You will need to have some graph paper to draw this block, click here for instructions.
2. Use the larger paper foundation pattern and make the block in two halves and join them. Here is the pattern for pattern to print out.
3. Perhaps you are a "template person"? If you prefer to make templates for this block they are HERE.
