This "Crow's Foot" block is listed in Barbara Brackman's Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns as block #1273 and shown under several different names. "Crow's Foot" was early used for it in 1931 and I liked it best as a name here. (Other names include: "Bright Star", "Maple Leaf", "Hummingbird" and "Rosebud". "Crow's Foot" was applied as a name by the Rural New Yorker in 1931.

A simple coloring of the Crow's Foot block on a neutral
background with blocks on point.

Similar to the above quilt, on point, but with a narrow sashing
added.
A bold look with black behind the Crow's Foot points. Narrow black sashing adds to the dramatic look and connects the background behind the "claws".

Bold stripes changes the look a lot.

Changing the coloration moves the alternate pinwheels to the foreground here in black with white circles.
