"Susan's Pinwheel" blockThis block, which is a quarter of the final pinwheel block, could range in size from 3 inches to 6 inches. The finished block would then be 6 inches to 12 inches. As you can see from the 12 sample quilt tops on these pages there are many ways to color this block. Here are 3 of the colorways used to make the quilts you'll see.

The gray area in the block (below) shows the separate section that is sewn as a 2nd unit and then attached to the main white portion. Be sure to leave at least a 1/4" seam allowance around both the white and gray units. See the link at the bottom of this page for a paper foundation pattern to print out with numbering.
