These are tips from

In reading the binding tips for avoiding a wavy border, I did not come across what I use that is a very simple solution. I always use bias binding (this won't work with straight binding). When sewing the binding on the front of the quilt with the machine, gently, ever so gently, stretch the binding just a bit. This takes out the "wavy" and saves time in basting around the entire quilt first. I like easy and this is so very easy and solves the problem!

Keep your eye open when shopping, especially at interior fabrics type shops, for stripes printed on the diagonal. You can use them cut selvage-to-selvage and still have an interesting "bias look" to your binding.
